We’ve all had those mornings. You wake up late, the coffee pot overflows, and you needed to look presentable and be out the door five minutes ago. Don’t worry, it happens to us all. Since not everyone has an hour to spend on their hair every morning, we’ve compiled a few quick hairstyles for those busy mornings!
Waterfall Braid Tutorial
The waterfall braid may seem intimidating, but it’s not! Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to whip up this quick hairstyle in 5 minutes or less. Think of it as a normal french braid where you leave the bottom strand hanging. Try this on both sides, or just one if you’re really pressed for time in the morning.
Quick Hairstyles: Double Twist Ponytail
Don’t have time to even think about braiding your hair? Try this double twist ponytail. Perfect for second-day hair (or even third!), or twist it up as a wash and go style! Simply part your hair, grab a small section from the front and begin twisting pieces on top of each other until you reach the nape of your neck. Fasten with a hair elastic and repeat on the other side. When you get to the end, combine both twists into a low ponytail.
Double Twist Bun Braid Tutorial
Similar to the double twist ponytail, just twist on side of your hair and then fasten with a hair elastic at the side of your head. Turn your ponytail into a messy bun, using some bobby pins if necessary. Pull out a few strands from your bun to frame your face.
Messy Bun Top Knot
Tired of relying on the same old quick hairstyles like a sock bun or messy bun when you’re in the rush in the morning? Try this unique twist on a classic bun. Pro tip: try using clear mascara to keep the flyaways at bay with this updo!
Side French Braid Tutorial
Take a new twist on a classic hairstyle by moving your French braid to the side of your head. Leave out a few pieces to frame your face. If your hair isn’t quite this full, try adding extensions to add thickness and volume to your braid. After you’ve fastened your braid with a hair elastic, pull each segment to make your final braid look fuller.
The Fishtail Bun
Try this quick hairstyle when you’re in a rush to get out the door in the morning! If you don’t have a sock bun, cut a hole at the end of a real sock, roll it up, and use it instead.
